Maths 03: Addition

Addition is essentially the concept of putting (combining) collections together where attention is focused on the number of objects in the collection.

Before we take up the concept, let children get sufficient exposure and experience of combining collections. Children may be provided enough opportunities to handle a wide variety of concrete materials. 'One more' idea may be initially introduced and then often recalled.
